A very old, possibly Victorian, table mat or doily made of fine white linen and hand embroidered in whitework and French knots. The center oval is connected to the outer frame of flowers and leaves via cutwork. The edges are buttonhole stitched. This delicate piece is in very good but not perfect condition. It has two pin point holes in the center part, a pin head hole in one of the leaves, and a spot the size of a teardrop at the very edge of one leaf. These flaws are really not very noticable and are way too insignificant to relegate this to the cutter bag. The piece is 9 x 12 inches.
