Elaborate and extensive embroidery and threadwork embellish this entire tablecloth. It is light blue cotton with white embroidery. I do not know the name of this embroidery technique. It looks a bit like Hardanger done with fine thread. The outside edge is completely done with a row of threadwork. This is all handwork obviously done by someone with more patience than I have.
The cloth is 49 x 52 inches.
It is in great condition except for the one spot shown which is about half the size of a dime. It shows much worse under flash than it is. I treated it with spot remover and thought I had gotten it all out. Another application will probably make it totally insignificant. The center of the first picture looks like it is stained. It is not. I have examined this with a magnifying glass under strong light and those discolorations are not on the cloth. See picture of the entire cloth.
