This serving tray is ideal for passing breads, rolls or pastries. It is EPNS silverplate, made in England and has a great handle that folds down for easier storage. The elongated oval tray is plain except for cut out designs at each end and in the middle of the handle.
The tray is 13.5 x 6.5 inches. The well is 3.5 x 8 inches. It is signed epns followed by some letters that are mostly illegible. Looks like A&---. Some are symbols. The last is probably a lion. These may be more visible when the tray is properly cleaned. I only cleaned it enough to check for silver wear. I didn't really find any. It will polish up very well.
If you entertain ladies to tea or invite people for coffee and cookies, this tray will serve you well for generations to come. I think this is from the late 30s to early 50s.
A note about the photos. the last one shows the underside of the tray. Difficult to see that on my screen.
