Pine cones, long needled fir, golden stars, blue Christmas balls and white doves fairly burst off this handpainted tablecloth. The background is red and the border is sand followed by a line of lemon and finally a mossy green. The fabric is cotton canvas or sailcloth--very heavy, and all edges are machine hemmed. The cloth measures 36 x 58 inches.
This is spectacular and expresses the joy of the holiday season. The cloth is signed Carolin(e) Scott. I can't find anything about her but she is certainly not a bored housewife who decided to paint a Christmas tablecloth. Definitely not a cloth for everyone but when the right owner discovers this it is sure to become a favorite part of their holiday tradition. Don't want to cover it up. Hang it from a rod in your entry way over a console table with a Christmas flower arrangement on it. It is a work of art afterall. Signature placement indicates it should hang north to south.
